The work session will be fairly simple, meeting with Youth City Council and then going over our next meeting’s (regular session) agenda items.
During the regular session, we’ll start out reviewing previous council meeting minutes and recent city expenses. We’ll then have multiple recognitions, including volunteers of the month and an award from URPA for “Event of the Year - Little Buckaroo Rodeo”.
We’ll then discuss two possible annexations.
1. The first is called the “Mulberry Annexation” which is a proposed development on the East Bench.
2. The second is recently purchased property the city now owns, with the intent to eventually develop into another cemetery as our current cemetery is getting closer to reaching capacity.
Much of the rest of the meeting will include budget agenda items, whether an amendment or tentative budgets. City Staff have worked diligently to review our city needs and have consulted with City Council on these budget agenda items. While I feel there is still room for adjustments to be made on our “Santaquin City FY 2025-2026 Tentative Budget”, I’m grateful to our amazing staff that have put so much thought, care, and consideration into crafting this budget. Tough decisions have to be made when it comes to our city budget and limited funds.
There are also various ordinances and resolutions in the agenda that if you have any questions or concerns, please read the linked agenda packet for the regular session, and don’t hesitate to reach out.
As always, if you have questions or concerns about anything on the agenda items for today’s City Council meetings, please reach out.
