City Council Meetings

For those interested in City Council, our next meeting is today, Tuesday, October 7th. The regular session starts at 7:00 p.m. at Council Chambers at City Hall Building (110 S Center St); The work session is cancelled for today. In these summaries, I don’t share everything, so if you’re interested please read the packet. These are more highlights of notable items on the agenda.

One item of note is our employee of the month, Annie Westover. Annie is amazing, and we are extremely fortunate to have her.

We have one resolution on the agenda regarding a fire safety digital platform that is designed to enhance our fire department’s ability to protect our community.

We have three other items under the "Discussion & Possible Action” section of our agenda. All of them are regarding our investment in our Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). This is an area where staff have worked diligently in planning ahead for our city’s needs.I look forward to our discussion in City Council regarding this. I am super appreciative of our city staff that have dedicated their time to ensuring we plan ahead for our city’s needs, making sure we are prepared.

The last item on our agenda is a potential amendment to a purchase agreement for a property in our city’s industrial park. This will allow us to give the purchaser more time for the closing process. I support this. I’m grateful for the Mayor's vision and action on making this industrial park a reality. This is a major benefit to our community. I am also grateful for city staff that have worked on making this a reality.
